Harry, that yellowish cast is due to cadmium, most likely.
You probably just need some cad free silver solder which
has a good match to stainless. Apparently, 57% silver
bearing solder matches better than the 45% we usually use
for boilers.

Also, Handy and Harmon's brazing book is a good place to
look for silver solder data. Trouble is, I don't know where
or how to get some of the types advertised.
