[modeleng] Re: Shirley

Isnt it strange that some clacks work well, whilst others which appear to be
identical dont.
The same applies to injectors, but perhaps more understandably.

It is always a relief when you have plenty of water on "tap".

Finally, after a long period of very soggy weather I got down to Lackham
last night. The urgency was Shirley (the Bagnall) and to persuade the
injectors to work. (Apart from the two injectors I have no other means of
getting water in the boiler.)

I had removed the clack, reformed the top of the seat and used a nitrile
ball. I had also replaced the injector.

It was like turning on a tap. 1/4 full to 3/4 full in about 20 seconds!

She also steams so freely, a very shallow fire, blower off (well just
cracked open) and the fire hole door open and she is still blowing off!

Tonight is the turn of Stumpy and Topsy.

Watch this space.

Cheers

Peter
