[modeleng] Re: Shepperton Studios Modelmakers

I was told, some years ago that the locos were scratch body built on Marklin
G1 chassis, can anyone confirm this?
As a full sized railwayman on the SVR, I can see how much research and work
has gone into the filming of Thomas, when the engine stops, a bit of steam
comes out from under the footplate when the steam brake goes on. Very well
researched and thought out from a railway point of view, better than a lot
of real programs I have filmed on the SVR, one even had Lady Arghmadale, the
Hunslet, ex Manchester Docks shunter as an Anglo Scottish Express, and with
2 coaches!!!!! Me old man and myself went as fast as we could but it wasn't
quite right.

Dave.

Regardless of the chubby bloke's name (he's Sir Toppem
Hatt over here), their attention to detail is amazing,
at least to me. The valve motions and the details in
the backgrounds and layout deserve a LOT of credit.
