I was discussing Scroll saws with a friend last night and the need to slow
them down to cut metal. He suggested the use of a variable autotransformer
( Variac ) He sometimes use's his to slow a bench drill down and it doesn't
seem to lose much torque. They are a bit expensive( $180 aud) when compared
to the cost of a Scroll saw but they do have other uses. They are sold here
