[modeleng] Re: Screwing the job up

Hello Rich,

That's a good idea. However the design (as far as this was designed .v. thrown
together!) had a 5/16 piece of plain bar that fitted neatly through a standard
bearing.

The motor is from radio spares (413-0593) and it has metal gears. They are
very similar to the ones used by the North Wilts ME on their point machines.
It shouldn't "slam" to a stop as I plan to have microswitch at the end of the
movement to cut off power before that point is reached and then (through the
electrics) the motor could only be reversed.

For the moment I'll try the screwcutting again tonight.

I did run the die down #3 last night and about half way down it started tearing
into the thread.

So, I'll check everything again (changewheels etc.) and try screwcutting again
tonight.

Cheers

Peter
