[modeleng] Sacramento California State Railway Museum

The Museum is relatively small compared with York, but the quality is 
superb.

We regularly use Amtrak to San Francisco, but found the diversion to 
Sacramento to see the Museum well worth it.

The high point for us was that the exhibits are staffed with enthusiastic 
volunteers, who tell you as much as you want to know and discuss without 
having to read all the fine print on the display panels. An Irish retired 
professional engineer in the dining car, and another gentleman in the PO car 
stand out in our memory.

York could emulate this...... to its advantage.

The volunteers also get to ride the Amtrak 'California Zephyr' 
transcontinental from Sacramemto to Reno (and return) give a running 
commentary on the building of the Central Pacific through the Sierra Nevada.

There is also a preserved historic district of downtown Sacramento, just a 
five minute walk away from the Museum. Lots of gift shops and restaurants.
