Hi Peter,
Could you not use a plain hole in a block and a couple of hefty setscrews?
On the other hand,a small piece of HSS doesn't cost much to try brazing it,
so try it and see. If it works, great (and let us know how you did it) and
if not, you're only out a pound or so.
