[modeleng] Re: Prices

It is not just machine tools. I think that you will find that most things in
the UK are between 1.5 and twice the price of an equivalent item in the US.
When I visit I mentally equate pounds and dollars in terms of purchasing
power. That is, a pound buys about the same thing as a dollar would in the
US. Consider what the equivalent to the US "Dollar Store" is called! The
only cheaper items that I have found are good beer and Barbour jackets.
