Hello Jim,
I do indeed have Locomotives Worth Modeling and I did give it a quick
thumb-through before I posted but I must have thumbed right past page 14. I
away from home at the moment but I'll have a look at page 14 later today. My
main focus at the moment is to find an orphaned ring or disc of something
inorganic for the smokebox ring.
