[modeleng] Off topic-old (Thermionic) valve

I know we have a number of radio / electronics enthusiasts here.

Towards the end of WW2, a RAF wireless technician was with a team preparing
ex-Luftwaffe airports for the RAF as the allies moved across Europe. Part of
his duties was to collect any electronics or radio items and send them back
to the authorities here, in case they were something previously unknown.

He also liberated some "samples" for his own interest.
Among these were sets of valves that were specifically made for various
Luftwaffe fighter aircraft.

Move forward a decade and the guy concerned moved in to the house next to
me. Finding that I was interested in radio, he gave me his RAF manuals,
plus, what he said was a complete set of these unusual valves.

A photo of one is at:

As can be seen, the chassis will form a screen between the control grid (top
cap) and the other connections.
Made by Telefunken, this particular one has the date 8-41 stamped on it.

I have never found any details on them, but thought the picture might be of
interest.
