[modeleng] Re: Off topic-AVO

Hi Alan,

I very seldom delve into electronics except to diagnose and fix something on
a car or around the house. When I do though, I also prefer an analogue meter
due to the needle giving a better indication of what's happening. I have a
cheapy digital meter and a fairly good digital one but the dancing displays
are often confusing. I don't have an AVO analogue but a large Japanese made
one sold by Radio Shack in the 1970's. This is a great meter and uses
standard AA and 9V batteries. Not sure if they were sold in UK but if you
come across one at a junk sale marked Radio Shack or InterTan that is about
2 x 6 x 9" in size, with a 3" needle length, for a good price, it would be a
good buy.

Cheers Jeff Dayman
