Hi All,
I have two Digital Multimeters but still prefer an Analog meter. As has been
said by other members the Digital ones can give more accuracy but take their
time scrolling up to the final reading. The cheaper Digital ones can also
give some very strange readings. On an Analog one, the needle gives a twitch
far faster.
I was lucky years ago when I used to play with electronics as a lot of small
analog meters made by Avo for British Telecom used to find their way onto
the second hand market at Radio fairs at about £1 each. Usually as faulty as
the BT Engineers could not be bothered to replace the internal fuse if it
blew so they were disposed of. If they had opened to back of the meter,
spare fuses were already stored inside in clips. The net result is that I
still have several meters in the workshop which are still doing sterling
service.
Regards
Clif
