Hi Andy,
The season has already begun and we were doing well until last week. First
we had some jughead hit a bridge just south of Eardington, that lost me a
days firing and a 15mph restriction on until the end of the season. That
shut the railway on Tuesday between Hampton Loade and Bridgnorth and on
Thursday, the GWR pannier, 5764, threw a big end cotter mid section and
caused delays of over an hour.
On a good note, the Engine house is looking good and is on time, I think it
opens in August or September. Gentlemans racing machine???.... I didn't know
we were having a Black Five in there!!!!!
Dave.

I don't know if anyone has seen the news tonight about the freak weather in
the Midlands, it is phenominal. Not good for the Severn Valley Railway
though, I'm glad I was on the footplate last week because tha railway has
been closed due to several landslides, one taking out a signal and
depositing it almost in the river Severn at Arley. The line is blocked
500yds south of Bridgnorth to Bewdley and was caused by severe thunderstorms
last night, any volunteers want to assist with a shovel?
Oh dear, I'm at work, just had a holliday!!!
I feel sorry for the people living at the villages down the line, one 30ft
piece of tarmac was moved 300yds down the road and the rest of the road is
impassable, cutting the village of Hampton Loade off.
Dave.
