Subject: [modeleng] Nameplate niggles
Hi there All,
I'm after some nameplates for a Rob Roy I'm working on. I'm not after a
personalised name for it, just want them to say "Rob Roy".
Previous nameplate purchases have been from the late Norman Spink (who
supplied cast namplates) and from Blackgates (who supplied etched
nameplates).
Whilst the cast ones required cleaning up, and had slight imperfections, I
have to admit to liking their 'character'.
The etched nameplates (only bought one set) were very crisp, but a little
'soul-less' and didn't really look right. They seemed to be in something
like a bolt arial font (try typying something into Word and converting to
this font to see what I mean).
I'd rather something more like...
http://www.stationroadsteam.co.uk/stock%20pages/3180/pages/3160-b.htm
http://www.stationroadsteam.co.uk/stock%20pages/3159/pages/3159-l.htm
Does anyone know of anyone who still supplied the cast nameplates, or
knows of a regular supplier that do etched nameplates that are a bit more
like what I'm describing?
Note: I'm not up for getting them specially made for the purpose of this
engine, so I'm more interested in supplier standard products than those
who deal in expensive one offs.
Any thoughts?
Yours,
Rich.
