[modeleng] Re: Myford ML7 motor replacement

Ken

IM B3, IM B34, etc are not frame sizes. They're mounting methods.

Frame sizes for 1-phase (metric) "fractional horsepower" motors (in "our"
sizes) are 63S to 100L, which refers to the distance in mm from the base of
the feet - on IM B3 or IM 1001 mounted motors - to the centre of the shaft.

See the URL I sent earlier for catalogues.

Andy

I've never heard of B3 or B34 frame. I have a NEMA 56 frame motor on my S7
and it fits perfectly. Isn't the M7 mount the same size as a S7? That said,
I think that you are succumbing to false economy by converting to single
phase. Keep your 3-phase and buy a VFD!
