Hi all
Has anyone bought a model pressure gauge recently? A friend of mine
recently bought one from Maidstone Engineering (now part of Maxitrak) and
was surprised to find that instead of the bezel being held on with a couple
of 10BA screws, it was firmly stuck on. He asked the supplier how he was
supposed to get the glass out to paint the red line on the dial.
In reply, he received a letter from the proprietor of Maxitrak, saying that
the glass couldn't be removed, and that he would have to paint the red line
on the glass.
I DON'T THINK SO!
This is totally unsatisfactory, as the red line could easily be rubbed off
when cleaning. Has anyone else had this problem, and are other suppliers'
gauges the same? The aforesaid gentleman at Maxitrak stated that all gauges
come from the same source, regardless of retailer, but I somehow doubt this.
Regards
Ron
