That certainly is a bargain.
It would have fitted nicely on my shaper, except that I got a machine vice
for it some time ago (at much higher cost).
Ahh well, no doubt someone will be able to make good use of it.

Subject: [modeleng] Milling vice free to good home in the UK
Hi folks,
I have a 7 1/2" milling vice looking for a home.... It's a bit battered
(ex college) and needs a clean and a new handle. There's several layers
of paint and some tarnish that needs to come off and it'll need
stripping down to do it properly..... I've got too much other stuff on
my plate ATM and on top of that it's too big for my old Herbert
Simplimill and to be honest it's too heavy for a soft southern
shandy-drinker like me too.... If anyone wants to come and pick it up
from Abingdon or Oxford you can have it for what it cost me.... nothing
at all.... It's a big old lump and it would have been made by an English
firm (all the other vices at the college were J+S or Abwoods), it needs
a new owner to take it off to a better life.... so if you've got a
Bridgeport or similarly sized mill it'll suit you down to the ground....
I need the space it's occupying back so it'll have to go soon one way
or another.... even if you're going to melt it down for the iron at
least you'd know it was pretty good quality before you started.....
