Hubert,
As I have said on the list and to you in person, that litle lathe is a
superb piece of machinery, and really deserves to be seen by more people.
I do hope you will exhibit it at one of the shows, and as it is too late for
the Midlands Exhibition, perhaps you could enter it for the London ME
Exhibition.

Nice to hear that your article has been published. I must get a copy and
read it.
Alan

Subject: [modeleng] Last news of little lathe

Hello everyone
Those of you who kindly encouraged me in the construction of my little lathe
may be interested to know that my small construction article has been
published in the current edition of Model Engineering Workshop. (Number
155, October 2009).

I recently sold a small precision drill press, and bought an Austrian-made
Proxxon Micro-mill MF70. This has a top speed of 20,000 rpm, and is ideal
for using tiny endmills (eg 1mm) and also very small drills.
The range of little collets supplied, does not cover the full range of
drills within its (1mm - 3.2mm) capacity. It is far too small to
accommodate even the smallest chuck, and so I have been plotting how to make
the additional collets. I have at last managed to make the first one
(1.3mm), so I now have a method of producing the balance. An ?interesting
project. In due course, I may modify the little machine to arrange for the
endmill to cut at an angle. The finish, solidity and design of this
little machine is excellent.

Cheers! Hubert
