John,
    An admirable policy.  I have had a few experiences with "epoxy"
relative to live steam work and have been disappointed with the results,
however I have to qualify what those experiences were.  Generally they were
an attempt to join either porous material (specifcally cast iron) or hard &
bright material (specifically stainless steel.)   Even though the faces
were made scrupulously clean for joining, none held once the temperature
began to change or once oil got to the joint.
