I have used epoxy type glues to hold similar things in place and can not see
any reason other than contamination that could stop you from using it.

The other method would be the use uf a sliiper designed like a piece of
channel to sit there as it will have nowehere to go once it is locked into
place via a register at the top and the keep at the bottom
