Try "The Royal Scots & Patriots of the LMS" by O.S. Nock  - David & 
harles  - probably out of print so you would have to try the library.
Looking through my copy, it seems as though the majority of the Scots had 
flush rivetted (or welded?) tenders  - no rivets to be seen!
