[modeleng] Re: Kettle

Eric,

Jesse, regarding the weather in your neck of the woods, have you had the
rain yet that you so desperately need , or is it some other area ?

Eric,

It is raining as I speak and light rain will continue for most of the
morning. I emptied out 2" from the gauge yesterday and a few days ago I
poured out about 4" of the wet stuff. We actually still have a bit of green
grass in the yard since we haven't had a genuine killing frost yet. Got
cold enough to kill most of the Kudzu in the ditch banks as well as the
"second crop" of corn that sprang up after the corn was combine harvested.
Due to the dry weather, there were zillions of tiny kernels that sifted
through the screens and planted a dense second crop. This "second crop" got
tall enough that it was almost beginning to put out tassels, but the frost
killed it "grave yard dead" as Jerry Clower used to say. Some of the second
crop was baled by cattle farmers so it was not totally lost. Just checked
the rain gauge and it looks like 2 tenths has fallen so far this morning.
Wet and chilly outside, all the more reason for me to go down in my nice
warm shop and work on a model of the Hoyt engine for LSOR magazine article.
