Hi, has anyone heard about new regulations that might be coming into force
regarding the handling of small children when giving rides? I have heard that
we might not be able to help them on and off the trolleys or help them move
forward to allow extra passengers on soon. All these actions could now be
misinterpreted as sexual harassment etc. I know we need some rules in the
country to prevent this but this is really poor for our hobby as it will mean
some children will not be allowed on the trains unless their parents are
there.
There are a few times when small children have had one ride with their
parents and are allowed to come back on their own. This will also mean more
people than necessary will be stood around the train and could itself lead to
accidents. A parent could not move someone elses child so other parents all
have
to be around the train placing children on and off. I know for my job
teaching young children I have to have a police check, which anyone can have,
but
this does not allow me to touch them or move them etc. I think it is a shame
this country is now like this (along with other stupid rules and laws) but
surely the reason is that the penalties handed out to offenders is too
lenient? If these people were locked away permanantly and I mean permanantly
in old
type cells etc we would not be faced with this situation we might be in
soon.
Any thoughts?
Garry
