For 7¼" gauge track on curves, go out 1/8 th inch extra, even a 1/16 th,
bit more if curves are extra tight, = 7 7/16. You will have to give a try,
for extra-extra width. Usually, most M/E s in N Z go for 7 5/8 ".
Especially in N G .
