[modeleng] Fw: Having a nice seat for your ball(s)

Hello Peter,

I've never had much success with bashing balls(!), particularly in clacks
that other people have made. I think this is possibly due to others not
taking care in the machining of the seat. I've made special brass drifts,
tried various types of hammer etc. etc.

However the cure for virtually all problems in this area is to use Nitrile
balls. In my experience they are magic. The only trouble I have had was
with
an axle pump clack where the nitrile ball was allowed too much lift - the
ball ended up in the boiler. An injector clack won't suffer like this.(Not
capable of generating sufficient excess pressure).

 Best Regards,

 Barrie
