John -
A stateside publisher/distributor of hobby metalworking books -- Lindsay Books
http://www.lindsaybks.com/prod/index.html -- lists a number of how-to books for
iron founding. The Chastain Books are supposedly very informative about iron
casting. Gingery wrote at least one book about a furnace which would melt iron
-- his "Building a Gas Fired Crucible Furnace". Lindsay also lists some of
Marshall's books -- see http://www.rockisland.com/~marshall/cupola.html
Some/many/most of Lindsay-distributed titles are available from distributors in
other countries. In Australia http://www.ploughbooksales.com.au/default.htm
In GB http://www.camdenmin.co.uk/
Good luck!
Charles
