Peter,
The lates on the SVR is that we are hoping to get to North end open to 
Hampton Loade at the end of the month. The South end will no be until much 
later. Highley station is devastated and it will be Feb at the earliest 
before that reopens. These are the latest estimates and not set in stone. If 
we get a mega wet winte, the dates will probably get put back even further.
If anyone wants to see some of the pictures of the damage and resulting 
repair work, contact me off list with your e-mail addresses and I will 
forward them on.

What's the latest position on the SVR?

Before you ask, I made a donation when I renewed my subscription.....

malt whisky on the NHS each week!

Hi Peter,

My Great Grandmother used to get 12 bottles of stout, (Mackeson was her
choice), a week on prescription. My Grandfather, (her son) used to fetch
the
prescription on his Lambretta series 3, 175 scooter, well admired by the
mods in his area, a purpose built box to carry the said 12 bottles with a
lid held down by a bunjy rope. That was 40 years ago but I still remember
the scooter rattling botttles down the road.
