    Thanks Jon, and John, I'll see what the members have to say and I've
already gleaned some useful information from their resources.  The
techniques I've used before may not comply with official whistledom rules,
at least knowingly anyway, and what I wanted to head off, if possible, is
consuming time and material building something that unbeknownst to me
wouldn't work from the outset.
     I've already made a whistle that is almost exactly what I need to make
again and it's nothing short of operetic, but the second one will have a
much shorter bell length to diameter ratio and will be a trickier job.  It
is entirely possible that it will only be heard by the neighborhood dogs.
