[modeleng] Re: Engineerium/Trevithick

The Engineerium certainly had a large and varied collection of exhibits.
When I went there many were running and there were plenty of diagrams.
moving exhibits, etc to show the youngsters how things worked.
The building they were housed in was also of historic interest.

It is a pity that it wasnt viable to keep it open, and more so that the
Local Authority didnt chip in with some cash.
(They had many local school parties there so there was an education angle:
plus it contrasts strongly with the support being given to the local
football club!)

In an ideal world, the majority of the exhibits would go to somewhere
similar so they can still be seen. In practice, I expect they will be
scattered worldwide. (But not in my direction, having seen the auctioneers
estimate of prices!)

As for the Trevithick day, I am pleased to see that the road run is back.
I must get down there to see that one year.

Alan
