Good advice, thank you.  I just looked at the Uni 8 spec to see if there
were any lower limits for the 24v controller (which there weren't!) I just
wonder why 4QD could answer the question that way!

It is for a friends locomotive which has a single Sinclair C5 motor, so
running it on 24v shouldn't be a problem.  In fact I do know of one "Robot
Wars" competitor that had one C5 motor driving one wheel (two in total)
using a "bang bang" control forward an reverse on each C5 and 7 x 12v
batteries giving a supply voltage of 84v.  At the end of the round the C5s
were slightly warm and the batteries were shot!

(It didn't half shift though!)
