[modeleng] Diamond Files

Hey Guys,
have you got a product name for these diamond files? I have heard of them,
just recently, I've never seen any. I was a storeman in a parts store for N
Z Railways, prior to retirement 15 years ago, and had never had diamond
files in stock. Am I just learning about tools? Bob L.

> The ones I have are made by Edge Craft in the USA.
>
> The set consists of a handle with magnetic holder, plus three "blades",
> fine, medium, and coarse.
>
> The latter is excellent at sharpening garden tools, (put a decent edge on
a
> spade and see how much less effort is required) and general rough work.
>
> The fine one will even sharpen tungsten-carbide tool inserts, and get a
> keener edge than the makers do.
>
> Medium and fine both make excellent files, on everything I can think of.
> They will file anything from finger nails, to hardened steel pins, and
leave
> a superb finish.
> I have been using the fine one in place of fine emery cloth, with
excellent
> results.
