Alan,
I don't think my all knowing, beloved Audel's Manual has anything on which
way the spokes should face since by the time it came out in 1921 curved
spokes were passé. I think Terry down in Oz read something on it somewhere
a couple of years back. They do look nice on old style engines and machines
don't they? I have put them on several model engines as well as a pump and
a five stamp ore mill model.

: [modeleng] Curved spokes
Some of the early engines had curved spokes om the flywheel, cast that way
to prevent contraction cracking of the casting.
On engines that didnt have reverse, was there any convention for which way
the flywheel ran relative to the spoke curves?
Was the C of the curve open to the direction of rotation or visa versa, or
did each maker choose their own way?
