Hi Peter,
I have sometimes thought about making it up to Plymouth as effectively I do
not have a club down here at the bottom end of Cornwall.(There is a club but
it not really worth the time of day)The only thing that it is interested in
is how to make more profit, the track is lousy, unloading facilities non
existent and the only thing they want you to do is keep going round giving
rides.
I haven't taken a loco or been to the club for six years since the Club
President balled me out for not giving rides. I was trying to run in a brand
new loco which had never been steamed before, had the usual teething
problems and I didn't want to give rides at the time. His comments were "when
I by a new car I take people in it so if you wont take passengers with a
new engine you must be incompetent"

Yes it was my 14XX for sale but not even a sniff.
I enjoy building locos and the Winson was a good excercise in frustration
and to see what problems people had with them.
In the end it came came out a nice looking loco and runs well (for my club
in Derby where all engines should be red to say it looked good it must be
good).
On the last outing it had around my track it ran continiously for two hours
with only stops for water and sorting the fire out so it can't be that bad.
Met a friend of yours the other week Dave Bliss.

Regards

Clif
