[modeleng] Re: Corn

All the locos on sugar plantations-mills in the Philippines and Cuba were
fired with the waste.
Now, they all use imported fuel in deisel locomotives. It is called
progress!!

It seems that I have heard that sugar mill locomotives in Louisiana
sometimes operated on bagasse also. Heat value might have been pretty good
as I am sure the semi dried material still had some sugar content left in
it. I know the bagasse from sorghum mills is pretty dry because I have
helped operate a mill my son-in-law has.
