[modeleng] Re: Club events

Thanks for all that Roger.
As you say, there must be many people who have that information, but
equally, there may be many more, like me, who didn't know it.

Hi Alan,

Well to précis several pages of handouts:

       11 & 12 September - The 16th [or is it the 15th - there is a
discrepancy in the blurb] National Locomotive Rally is being organised
by the Birmingham Society of Model Engineers. There are three tracks:
3-1/2"/5" raised; 5"/7-1/4" ground level and a Gauge 1 and
gauge0/16mm raised. They say that traction engines, road rollers and
steam wagons are welcome. Catering is being laid on, with a Grand
Evening Party on Saturday evening at £5 per adult. Camping and
caravanning is possible. Contacts: Tony Sear, 01 926 424 942
and/or John Walker, 01 789 266 065, and www.bsme.co.uk. The
location is Illshaw Heath, Solihull, near to junction 4 on the M42.

18 September - The Southern Federation Autumn Rally, being
held at the Maidstone Model Engineering Society. The track has a
raised aluminium 3-1/2"/5" track, which is 1826 feet long. Boiler
certificates will be needed, as well as spark arresters. Caravanning
is possible. Contact: Martin Parham, 01622 630 298. The location is
Mote Park, Maidstone, just off the A20 Ashford Road, and near
junction 7 on the M20.
19 September - The Maidstone Model Engineering Society is
holding its 75th anniversary Open Day.

I hope that all makes sense to you. All this is taken from bumf
sent to me by the Southern Federation, so it will be known by many
people all around the country.

       Cheers,

          Roger Mason, in St. Agnes.
