Although I'm not 100% sure, I would put money on that plate / number be
genuine.
It is a pity that the drawings and castings are no longer available, and 2nd
hand copies seem to be as rare as rocking horse manure.
Good luck with your search for them.

HI All
I have just offered to overhaul a 3.5" gauge Clarkson A3 for a friend.
Firstly does anyone have a set of drawings I could purchase or copy for this
engine and secondly it has a plate attached to the front smokebox saying
H.Clarkson with a number. I am aware that Clarkson made models
proffesionally the question is did he number them or is this plate a bit of
a red hearing?
thanks
Andy
