Thanks for replies from Julian, Cliff, Jeff, Steve & Alan.
I have located a couple of washing machine pumps and have been thinking of
ways to incorporate them in a coolant supply system, I am concerned about the
H&S aspect as they have exposed terminals which would require special
protection. Also it would take several hours to produce a suitable mounting
arrangement.
I like Jeffs suggestion of a scrap yard pump and that could be worth
investigating but again it would take some time to produce a suitable mount.
Alans gravity feed would be a quick solution but I wanted an 'automatic'
system.
So after some discussion with SWMBO I have been allowed to invest more money
in a slightly more expensive version (she could not put up with the temper
tantrums any longer). I believe that several of these alternative units have
been sold without a problem and I have good reports of the company supplying
them.
I will persue the suppliers of the original system, with a view to get even
some of my money back and I will certainly raise the Sale of Goods act aspect
but I am not holding my breath. Any way, the tank and the electric's could be
used for a better system at a later date.
