[modeleng] Re: Ceramic Valves

Only though I have Cliff is that when this valve failed on our taps at 
home, part of the disc blew out, so the tap came on full!

Thats the only problem with the ceramics, they don't start to bend much 
when they are overstressed like the metals we normally work with, they 
just shatter - like making locomotive components from glass!

Also, if it does fail, it will dump ceramic shards through the cylinders 
, which may well damage the bores.

Personally I wouldn't be up for it (but then I tend to be the eternal 
pessimist) - but if you do have a go, I'd be interested to hear how you 
get on.
