[modeleng] Re: Cab colour

Alan,

It's a long time ago and I was just a little boy but my dad often took me
down to the (LMS) sheds and I struggled to climb up into many cabs. As I
remember them some were painted cream and some black, the exact colour was
diificult to tell as they were invariably absolutely filthy. They had been
banned from cleaning the copper pipes some years previously due to thinning
of the pipes and I can still remember my father coming home one day in the
mid fifties and telling me that they had stopped cleaning the loco's, he
obviously saw the beginning of the end.
