Hi John and Cliff

I, too, have heard of the GWR wheels.    I believe that Lovell, who was very 
strapped for cash, used anything that was being thrown out of battleships 
AND locomotives.    Recycling par excellence!

The evidence of their success  is there for all to see at Jodrell Bank, more 
than 40 years later.
