Ian,
I am sure that somewhere in one of the back issues of Home Shop =
Machinist
there was an article where someone had modified and fitted an electonic
vernier to the tailpost of a lathe. I am sure that there was a collar =
placed
around the tailstock barrel which had an inbuilt clamp for the moving =
part
of the digital vernier and the stationary part was fittied to the body =
by a
small clamp which in turn had been attached to the body. Not much info, =
but
it may be enough to start drawing. Regards, John
