I blue ramrod parts for Dixie Gun Works in my wife's kitchen oven. (Auntie Fern is very understanding!) I set the temperature for 550 degrees and leave them in until they blue. Temp really should be above 550, but that is the limit that our new oven can reach. Old oven worked better as it would get hotter, but I had to constantly watch to be sure the parts did not "pass blue" and turn silvery gray.
