Gents,
I am looking for a reasonably priced tailstock drill chuck arbor for a small
lathe. It needs to have a Boley/WW-style 8mm collet shank X #0-Jacobs taper
stub. Cowells have them but their price is prohibitive. Levin, the last maker
of watchmakers type machines in the US, have them but their price is even more
prohibitive. I have an inquiry out to RDG Tools who appear to have some
tooling of this size at reasonable prices but they don't list the exact item.
Additional suggestions for sources from either shore welcomed.
After a rather long layoff I returned to work on my big TICH this week and have
been attacking the cylinders. Next time I'll allow for just a wee bit more
machining allowance all-around. Everything is OK but I'd cut it awfully close
on all sides and I'd like to have more material available so as to be able to
get a bit further beneath the skin.
Regards,
Harry
