Peter,
Plenty to see for sight seeing in Beijing, general wise. Just get the
brochures at your hotel front desk, but the Great Wall is a must, and
the Forbidden City. Enough else to keep you going for a week.
Railway wise:-
The National Railway Museum in Beijing,
Beijing (Main) railway station
Beijing Nan (Beijing South) railway station to see the new 335kmph CRH
high speed trains (TGV/Bullet style trains).
The Beijing subway - recently expanded and upgraded for the Olympics.
Will email you off-list with more details in a day or so of the railway
stuff..
