Harry,
Mine are fixed that way. Countersunk slot head screws from inside the cab,
with the brass bezel on the outside. The screws are filed down so they are
flush with the outside if the bezel, and then pollished with the rest of the
bezel. The inside of the cab is of course painted, and I used a small brush
to paint the head and slot, so that they are not noticable unless you are
looking for them.
The full size of mine was done that way.
If you REALLY want to make problems for yourself, use some automotive bog in
the slots before painting and pray you never break one........
