[modeleng] Re: All quiet on the western front.

Hello Everyone

A mate and I are going to the Buckinghamshire Railway Centre at Quainton
(near Aylesbury - there is also a HUGE tower windmill there!) to see an
exhibition of Napier engines - these will include a complete Deltic
diesel-electric locomotive, a Napier car and aero engines. We hope to
dodge the promised rain. This show is open on Saturday and Sunday.

I have escaped from purdah - Having carelessly damaged my left hand on a
circular saw (I hang my head in shame!) I am glad to say that after nine
weeks, all is nearly back to normal, with all fingers working (though a tad
tender on the fingertips). I have resumed driving, and thus regained my
independence - and I have returned to my workshop at last - VERY carefully!

Tilgear have a less 1/3rd offer on a Rotacraft flexible shaft motor unit,
with a powerful motor with variable speeds up to 20,00 rpm. This offer
runs out at the end of June. I have bought one and am delighted with the
speed and power. I am planning to attach it to my vertical milling
machine, where the speed will be useful for using really tiny endmills,
which require speeds in excess of that provided by the milling machine. If
I succeed with this botch-up, I will tell you more.

Cheers! Hubert
