Measured across the cutting edge gave 0.120 - just over 3mm. A Presto one 
came out right. Some cheap ones got at the Bristol exhibition the other 
year not only have lead shanks (perhaps not literally, but almost as soft) 
and varied by 5 thou between examples.
You would think that by now I would have learned that cheap drills, saw 
blades, brazed lathe tools and the like are  a waste of money....It's 
better to buy the good stuff in the first place.
