[modeleng] Adept/Super Adept lathes

I have got hooked on Adept/Super Adept lathes and have managed a purchase over
the net. There seem to be a number of variations or developments, and I should
be grateful for any information people may have over and above that which is on
the lathes.co.uk website. For starters, does anyone know the exact taper in the
headstock? As far as I can measure, it seems to be about 1 in 25, and looks to
be very close to a Jacobs No 0. Most of the lathes I have seen illustrated
appear to have the same taper in the tailstock, but I have a different
tailstock with a larger taper and a different advancing mechanism. Is this a
manufacturer's development, or a very clever adaptation? It also seems as
though there was provision for a power feed: was this again a development, or
an optional extra?
Does anyone know a source of supply of slotted 1/8 inch whitworth grub screws,
as used for the gib strip adjustment? The originals are two different lengths
and have pointed ends, but longer could be adjusted.

It may be that articles were printed in the Model Engineer, or similar, about
the lathes, modifications, new developments etc., but, unfortunately I do not
have access to indexes to check. Could anyone help?
