[modeleng] A leaking ring - leaks no more

All,

An update to a question I posed earlier=2E =20

I removed the boiler from the frames and stood it on the backhead=2E  This=

gave excellent access to the inner firehole ring=2E  A really good clean
followed by the use of Bridgit flux (as recommended by a fellow listee) an=
d
a propane torch (no need to use the oxy propane) got the solder flowing
very nicely around the ring and sealed this small leak very effectively=2E=
 =20

She was then steamed and used on quite a busy day in service and there wer=
e
no problems=2E

She has a ticket until Jan 2007, but as I am looking to sell her to fund
the purchase of a Bagnall, I thought it would be a good selling point to
get her re-ticketed=2E=20

Aprroximately three weeks ago she went to the boiler testers at North Wilt=
s
and she passed the 1=2E5x test with flying colours=2E  So she has a hydrau=
lic
ticket until 2010=2E=20

Since then I found time to fit the second injector=2E  Last Sunday I was b=
ack
at the North Wilts site (in the pouring rain) where she passed the steam
test, again with flying colours and very pleasantly without recourse to
using either the axle driven pump or hand pump and both injectors worked t=
o
the satisfaction of the boiler tester and witness=2E So I have a steam tic=
ket
until October 2007!

So, problem sorted=2E
