I understand it is due to be aired on BBC1, in the late-summer or
early-Autumn.
As for fonts, by 1931, the Southern Railway had the "new regime" in place
and was adept at publicity.
As part of that they had and were, undergoing a massive modernisation,
including changing much of the network to electric trains.
New signs etc also came out, with new type faces. (From memory, Eric Gill
designs.)
Station signs, such as those on waiting rooms, were sans serif, and it was
one of these that I saw being covered up and replaced by, something similar
to Times New Roman, but more old fashioned.
On the Schools Class, I would look at some pictures of one that remains, and
see what typeface that uses.

If it isnt Gill Sans, it is similar.

I hope it comes over here, otherwise I'll have to search around to
find it on streaming video. I suppose no one knows when it will come
out as yet?

Interesting. Actually, I wonder what the right typeface for "Lancing"
might be? It is a Schools Class loco (# 904) built in 1931, I
believe. I'm just at the process of choosing the lettering for my
tender. Having the correct typeface would be quite nice.
